LUIS ALBERTO BARROSO MORENO

Degrees:
Doctorado en Sistemas y Gestión de la Ingeniería, Texas Tech University.
Maestría en Ciencias con Especialidad en Sistemas y Gestión de la Ingeniería, Texas Tech University.
Licenciatura en Ingeniería en Sistemas Computacionales, Universidad de las Américas Puebla.

Areas of interest:

Sistemas, Proyectos, Sustentabilidad, Productividad, Innovación.
Luis A. Barroso holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Systems and Engineering Management from Texas Tech University and a B.S. in Computer Science from Universidad de las Américas Puebla.

He collaborates in the training and development programs for Nestlé and Wal-Mart in Mexico. He is also an IIE and ASEE member and belongs to Alpha Pi Mu and Tau Beta Pi. He has been Engineering Department Head for Tecnológico de Monterrey, San Luis Potosí and Veracruz campus. Currently, he is collaborating with the Center for LATAM studies at Cornell. Founding partner at AKXO, the first company focused on the design and development of VTOLs in Latin America, participating in FAMEX (Mexican Aero Expo).

His research interest focuses on the understanding and analysis of productive systems with an emphasis on entrepreneurship, small enterprises, and social impact. Since 2016, he is a full-time professor for the School of Business and Economics and he was appointed Graduate Programs Department Head in 2017 at Universidad de las Américas Puebla.
