Tania has a PhD in Politics on public diplomacy and soft power (Queen Mary University of London, UK), a master’s degree in Globalization and Communications (University of Leicester, UK), and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism (Escuela de Periodismo Carlos Septién García, Mexico). Since November 2023, she is the academic director of the International Relations and Political Science Department of the Universidad de las Américas Puebla, where since January 2019 she has been associate professor for the International Relations and Political Science Department and also has collaborated with the Communication Department. From December 2019 to November 2023, she was the postgraduate coordinator of two Master’s programs "Governance and Globalization” and “Communication and Digital Media”. She is member of the National Researchers System of Mexico (SNI), candidate level. She is also member of international organizations, such as Latin American Studies Association (LASA), International Studies Association (ISA), International Communication Association (ICA) and AEJMC (Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication). Currently, she is the International Liaison of the Public Diplomacy Interest Group of the International Communication Association (ICA) for the term 2022-2024. She has disseminated her research at international conferences in Europe, the USA and Latin America, and delivered seminars to undergraduate students at Queen Mary University of London on International Relations. Among her recent collaboration are her participation in two editions (2019 and 2020) of the report "Informe de Libertad de Expresión en México" of CASEDE (Colectivo de Análisis de la Seguridad con Democracia A. C., among other publications. She has had professional experience in journalism, editing, corporate communication, and Public Relations in Mexico; and also she has worked for the education sector at the University of Leicester and Across the Pond in several positions of students support and at Queen Mary University of London, giving seminars to International Relations students.
