Ana Paulina Colmenares González. Artistic name: Paulina Colmenares, is a Mexican experimental director, choreographer and educator. She holds a BA in Dance from Universidad de las Américas Puebla (UDLAP) and a Master of Fine Arts in Dance Making and Performance from University of California San Diego. She has shared her choreographic work in numerous institutional and independent venues, as well as several international dance festivals in Mexico and the United States. She has shared her choreographic work in numerous venues in Mexico and the United States. She has been a beneficiary of the PECDA Puebla Support on three occasions: Young Creators (2011), Creators over 30 years old (2014) and Consolidated Creator (2019). She has also been a recipient of the FINBA-CONACYT Fellowship (2018-2020), for the development of high-quality human resources for the arts abroad. Recent credits include: "NADA" (2019)," AN OBJECT, SCREAMING" (2020) and "THE BUFFALO" (2021).
Her research focuses on the interactions between dance making and contemporary improvisational forms, posthumanist notions about the body and performativity, the philosophical narrative of Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector, somatic practices and contemplative traditions; particularly Dzogchen Buddhism.
