José Luis Zechinelli Martini has a PhD in Computer Science and a Masters degree in Information and Communication Systems from Joseph Fourier University (University of Grenoble Alpes). He is a Computer Systems Engineer from the Universidad de las Américas Puebla.

He is a researcher in the framework of the GALILEAN cooperation project on "Just in Time" cloud architectures for massive data processing, between the Laboratory of Imaging and Information Systems (LIRIS CNRS UMR 5202) and the University of Arizona. He is a regular member of the Mexican Academy of Computing (2016 to date). He was a research assistant in 1994 and later director of the Information Technology and Automation Research Center. From 2008 - 2020 he was head of the Databases Group at the French-Mexican Laboratory of Informatics and Automatics, International Joint Unit of the French National Center for Scientific Research.

His research focuses on problems associated with the integration of Big Data collections in different infrastructures and the specification of spatio-temporal query and visualization languages to retrieve multimedia and multiform data from distributed services. He has participated in several research projects as coordinator, funded by national (CONACyT, ECOS-ANUIES) and international institutions (FP7 of the European Community, Microsoft).

Since 2002 he is a full time professor of the Academic Department of Computer Science, Electronics and Mechatronics, where he serves as Academic Coordinator of the Bachelors Degree in Computer Systems at the School of Engineering of the Universidad de las Américas Puebla. He has participated in the Disciplinary Commission of Student Affairs (2006-2016), in the Graduate and Doctoral Committee and in the Honors Program Commission; and collaborated with UDLAP Consultants as a speaker of a module of Distributed Systems in the Diploma of Automotive Systems.

Dr. José Luis Zechinelli Martini is a professor who promotes quality in teaching, using theoretical-practical pedagogical strategies that form in students critical thinking in the use of computer systems to solve problems for the benefit of society. The teaching method he practices seeks that students achieve skills that make them competitive in the job market in Mexico and abroad. The skills developed in his classroom also allow students interested in pursuing further studies to do so in the best universities in the world.
