Licenciatura en Diseño de la Comunicación Gráfica, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana .

Alejandro Ortiz has a master degree in Information Design at UDLAP, also he studied a bachelor degree in Graphic Communication Design in UAM and currently is PhD candidate in Language Sciences at BUAP, also has studies in United Kingdom and Spain. Since 1993 Alejandro has worked as designer in several design services offices in Mexico City. In 1995 founded his own firm, with offices in Mexico City, Pachuca and Puebla. In addition, he has worked on graphic design projects as an independent consultant. In teaching, Alejandro is an expert in different areas of design, for example signing systems, infographics, information architecture, usability, visualization methods, instructional design, map design, pragmatics of language, among others. He has been invited as lecturer in Central and South America conferences, has participated as juror in design contests, has directed numerous undergraduate and graduate theses and given wide variety of courses related to graphic and information design. His particular philosophy: Information Design is a bridge of understanding between people.
