LAURA MARISSA ISLAS ROMERO

Degrees:
Doctorado en Biotecnología Productiva, Instituto Politécnico Nacional.
Maestría en Biotecnología Aplicada, Instituto Politécnico Nacional.
Licenciatura en Nutrición y Ciencia de los Alimentos, Universidad Iberoamericana Plantel Golfo Centro .

Areas of interest:
Nutrición, Epidemiología, Microbiología, Biotecnología, desarrollo de nuevos productos
PhD and Master in the area of Biotechnology granted by the Center for Research in Applied Biotechnology of the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico (through the PNPC program of CONACYT). Degree in Nutrition and Food Science from the Universidad Iberoamericana de Puebla.
She has conducted research for a period of 6 years in the area of nutrition and food science, through the Office of Transfer of Technology Nutravia S.A de C.V.
She has a patent proposal for her research work in microorganisms with probiotic potential.
She has participated in several international congresses exposing research papers in areas of food science and microbiology, including IFT (Institute of Food Technologists) and the ASM (American Society for Microbiology).
She is currently a full-time professor at the University of the Americas Puebla, where she teaches different courses in the Department of Health Sciences in the area of Nutrition.
