His research focuses on the study of the effects of habitat reduction and fragmentation in the population dynamics of the species and the analysis of the role of community alternative tourism projects in the management of natural resources, both processes addressed from the perspective of its implications in the conservation of biodiversity and cultural heritage.
In the teaching area, he has worked as a lecturer in institutions such as the Universidad del Valle de México, the Centro Universitario Hispanoamericano and the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla, where he taught courses in the area of Biology, Ecology and Environmental Engineering. Since 1999 he joined the University of the Americas Puebla,r where he has offered undergraduate courses mainly in Biology.
