Yadira Valdivieso Díaz holds a PhD in Mathematics from the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata. She also holds a Master’s degree in Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
She has over 20 years of teaching experience and has taught courses in various fields including Physics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Health Sciences, Mathematics, Biochemistry, Biology, Economics, Business, and Engineering.
She has completed postdoctoral research stays in Argentina, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, as well as research stays in the United States, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, and the United Kingdom. She has been awarded research funding in the United Kingdom through the Newton International Royal Society Fellowship and in the European Union through the Marie-Curie Fellowship. Recently, she has also secured a CONAHCyT project.
Her research focuses on Representation Theory of algebras, combining techniques from geometry, topology, combinatorics, and category theory. She is a member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadoras e Investigadores (SNII) at level 1.
She has been a speaker at both international and national research and science outreach events and has recently collaborated with several national universities to contribute to events for students and faculty.
Since 2022, she has been a full-time professor in the Department of Actuarial Science, Physics, and Mathematics at the Universidad de las Américas Puebla.
