WHAT IS ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT?

Academic Advisement is an area under charge of learning experts which provides specific attention towards improving students’ academic performance, where we contribute to identifying and developing the necessary skills for students to successfully face the academic challenges of university studies in a personalized manner. This service is open to the entire student community during all academic periods.

STUDY GROUPS

Through the “Study groups”, project, the department has the support of academically outstanding students to give tutoring in some subjects that tend to be difficult for students and fall outside of the Learning Centers’ topics.
Furthermore, we can guide you and put you in touch with the University’s three Learning Centers:

ACADEMIC TRACKING

This department can provide the academic accompaniment you need to improve your performance by personally diagnosing the type of help you need with independent work stemming from programmed activities, including you in a study group if needed, putting you in touch with a Learning Center, monitoring your partial grades, among others.
If you wish to obtain PPA1 points by attending Advisement, the requirements are:

  • Take a diagnostic test (schedule an appointment at CS-114 or online)
  • Do the assigned activities
  • Conclude the planned program
  • Be enrolled in the subject FY001 (PPA1)

READMISSION

If you are in the Readmission process and wish to enroll, it is important for you to follow this procedure:

  • Approach your Academic Director for an interview.
  • Sign a commitment letter with Academic Advisement.
  • Receive academic tracking at Academic Advisement during the enrolled semester.

CONFIRMING YOUR CAREER PATH

If you are having doubts about choosing the right major for you and are thinking of making a change, you can come to us to work on Career Path Orientation. This program’s objective is to help you to identify the professional fields most adapted to your interests, skills, and personal attributes to ease the exploration process and vocational and professional decision-making.

APTITUDE SELF-ASSESSMENT TOOLS

If you are interested in self-assessing your cognitive and learning aptitudes, you may approach our department to learn about the tests we have to help you self-diagnose your academic strengths and weaknesses.

For example: verbal aptitude, written aptitude, numerical aptitude, attention, study habits.
