Tratamiento de agua, fotocatálisis solar, modelado de sistemas de abastecimiento de agua potable y alcantarillado, modelado de trenes de tratamiento de agua
Dr. Benito Corona-Vasquez is a Full-time professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UDLAP since August 2003, and he is also Head of the same academic department since December 2005. Dr. Corona received his Licenciatura degree in Civil Engineering at UDLAP (1996) and his masters and doctorate degrees in Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. As a professor at UDLAP, Dr. Corona is particularly focused on teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Water Treatment, Environmental Hydraulics and Water Supply and Wastewater Collection Systems. As a researcher, Dr. Corona is interested in developing alternative methodologies and techniques for treatment of potable and wastewater in rural communities in Latin America, as well as on elucidating the mechanisms of inactivation involved in the use of chemical, physical and sequential disinfection to control the ocurrence of waterborne pathogens. Dr. Corona was a Fulbright-CONACYT fellow throughout the duration of his graduate studies and was a member of the National System of Researchers, Level 1, of CONACYT during the period 2005 - 2008. Currently, he is an active member of the UNESCO Chair on Hydrometeorological Risks hosted by UDLAP.
