As a graduate from the Bachelor of Art History and Curatorship, you will be able to produce, evaluate, and meet the cultural, artistic, and social requirements of venues where art and culture are protagonists. You will critically evaluate art history and handle theoretical, conceptual, and methodological concepts to work in auction houses, art markets, cultural tourism, museums, galleries, national or international private or public cultural institutions, publishing houses, and organizations that manage and advise on culture and arts.

Once you have finished your study program, you will have a bachelor´s degree in addition to a licenciatura degree. Therefore, your studies will be recognized worldwide.

In addition to enhancing your entry skills, at the Licenciatura in Art History and Curatorship we propose to:

  • Teach you the fundamentals, guidelines, and discourse of Art History in all its historic and theoretical aspects, as well as the different problems related to curatorship.
  • Lead you in the professional world related to current art problems: markets, curatorship, and collecting.
  • Help you to analyze the diversity of works of art in their respective economic, political, and social contexts in order to evaluate their technical aspects.
  • Make you aware of the phenomena related to Mexican art, from its beginning to modern times./li>
  • Help you to intervene, from a theoretical and practical viewpoint, with proposals and projects for conservation and dissemination of art and culture.
  • Train you in the use of new information and communication technologies.
  • Instruct you in the problems of different styles, trends, movements, and schools that have characterized Art History until now.
  • Teach you to comfortably use the appropriate terminology for your development in the professional field.
  • Design the pertinent methodological formula for research and knowledge of a specific phase or mechanism of artistic production within a specific genre.
  • Is keen to work and understand art from different approaches.
  • Has solid reading habits.
  • Willing to work for the greater good and to be successful.
  • Determined to achieve goals through learning.
  • Competent in the selection of works of art, through an analysis of their characteristics, providing answers to work-related demands in exhibitions and art promotion environments.
  • Knows how to write art reviews through a process of edition and reflection to favor the appreciation of cultural and artistic works.
  • Able to design curatorial, cultural, and social projects by applying theoretical-methodological instruments in curatorship to meet the requirements of a job.
  • Experienced in interpreting works, artists, and eras, as well as cultural movements and phenomena, through the use of conceptual tools of Art History and Curatorship to carry out an adequate classification of works.
  • Able to draft projects and proposals in a creative and innovative way, organizing multidisciplinary teams and using new technologies to face and solve the contemporary challenges of art and culture.
  • Competent in evaluating artistic and cultural phenomena, by analyzing their specific characteristics and elements to disseminate them in any cultural environment.
