ACADEMIC QUALITY
Likewise, our students showed their abilities, com-
petence and leadership earning different honors and
awards. A small sample of their talent, capability and
academic quality is presented below:
• Geraldine Juárez Villanueva, Diana Ireri Jiménez
Ireta, Daniela Isabel lvarez Soto, Héctor Serrano
Martínez and Juan Pablo Espinosa Macías, as well
as former scholarship recipients Alba Marcelle Baca,
Areli Torres Zárate, Luis Ángel Olvera Perdomo, Bri-
anda Patricia Cervantes Rivero, Rubén Adrián Mar-
tínez Gómez, Luis Guillermo Contreras Vallejo,
Carolina Ortega Molina, Francisco Javier Mejía
Barrientos, Fabiana Rosales Ángeles, Nadia lva-
rez Romero and Juan Manuel Hernández Ordóñez,
received scholarships in Spring 2012 through the
educational program Roberto Rocca.
• Denise Vera Merino, of Licenciatura in Communica-
tion Science, wrote the article “Bandas de viento de
Hidalgo” (Wind Bands from Hidalgo), published in
México Desconocido magazine, issue 425.
• Diana Eloísa Rojas Ríos, student of Licenciatura in
Information Technology Systems Engineering, was
selected by Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs
and International Trade to participate in the Pro-
gram for America’s Emerging Leaders.
• Daniela Gómez González, Luvia Ixchel Córdoba
Domínguez, Igor Cabrera Rosas, Diana Marín Mau-
ricio, Luis Francisco Zavala Hernández, Alejandro
Piones Franco, Karla Sinai Pozos Flores, Janel Gar-
cía Alfaro, Oscar de la Cerda Mejía and Angélica Enya
Montiel Fosado, of Licenciatura in Communica-
tion Sciences, participated in the fourth university
expression rally “En Corto” (In Short) at the Inter-
national Film Festival of Guanajuato, with the film
Baño de Mujeres (Women’s Bathroom).
• The team integrated by Deyanirr Solorio Nocetti,
Bianca Vidal Ramos, Estefanía Sevilla Uribe and
Andrea Alarcón Fernández, students of the Law
Licenciatura, won the first round of the contest
“Desafío Jurídico” (Judicial Challenge) 2012.
• Daniela Fernández Manzo, of Licenciatura in Visual
Information Design, through a visual campaign
design, won the contest “Inspira Ligereza 2012”
(Inspire Lightness), organized by Bonafont, a water
bottling company.
• The team of Areli Maresa Sánchez Stefanonni, José
Roberto Vargas Alanis, Lorena Ramírez Jiménez
and Pedro Salvador Lladó Camarillo, of the Law
Licenciatura, and under the tutelage of Dr Gabriel
Andrés Cámpoli, obtained third place in the
National Contest of Oral Litigation 2012, organized
by the Judicial College of Cuernavaca, the Supreme
Court of Morelos State, the American Bar Associa-
tion, and the U.S. Agency for International Devel-
opment (USAID).
• The Licenciatura in Educational Innovation students
Jessica León Vargas, Ana Margarita Garza Cajiga and
María de Lourdes Navarro Hernández won the first
three places of the State’s Second Contest of Univer-
sity Essays “Jóvenes Comprometidos con la Transpar-
encia” (Young People Committed to Transparency),
organized by Instituto Federal de Acceso a la Infor-
mación (IFAI), Comisión para el Acceso a la Infor-
mación Pública y Protección de Datos (CAIP) and
Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla(BUAP).

UDLAP PRIDE STUDENTS
Recognizing their effort, commitment and high
academic standards, the UDLAP Scholar award was
bestowed for the fourth time on five licenciatura
students with the best G.P.A. in their schools, and on
the best graduate student.
