• Héctor Serrano Martínez, Marcelo Castillo Aldama,
David Esteban Alonso Razo, Ana Cristina Cruz Gar-
cía, Isaí Alonso Ortiz, Manuel Moreno Báez, Elías
Prado Morales, Gustavo Guexpal Medina, Iván Ser-
rano Martínez, Areli Torres Zárate and Karla Pérez
Juárez, members of Electratón Racing Team UDLAP
2012, won national first place in the Toyota Elec-
tratón National Championship LTH 2012.
• Yessica Marín Herrera, Jesús Daniel Bárcena Tzili,
Francisco Javier Contreras Calzada, Rich Zapata
Rosas and Carlos Antonio Melgarejo Vázquez, of
Licenciatura in Mechatronic Engineering, won
second place in the State´s Second Open Robot-
ics Tournament.
• Andrés Bretón Iglesias, a student of Licenciatura
in Civil Engineering, earned a Young Future Energy
Leader 2012 (YFEL) scholarship, granted by the
Masdar Institute of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emir-
ates. YFEL is a program that develops leadership in
young people, so they are able to solve problems
of renewable and sustainable energy of the world.
This scholarship was granted to 15 students from
five continents.
• Javier Rocha Robles, a student of Licenciatura in
Visual Information Design, earned second prize
in the national contest Campus Short Film Festi-
val. His short film was selected among more than
600 films presented by university students from
around the country.
• Gabriela Bautista Vargas, a Licenciatura in Chem-
ical Engineering student, was invited by King
Abdullah University of Science and Technology
in Saudi Arabia to attend a summer internship in
research projects.
• Miguel Ángel Fajardo Turner, a Licenciatura in Sys-
tems Engineering student, did professional prac-
tices at the Meraki Company of Silicon Valley, USA.
• Pablo Gutiérrez González, alumnus of the first
graduating class of the Licenciatura in Banking
and Investments, was honored by the Global Asso-
ciation of Investment Professionals (CFA) with a
CFA level 1, which is equivalent to having a master´s
degree in finance, thus accrediting the quality of
his knowledge at an international level.
• Rafael Delfín Vidal, a Licenciatura in Economics
student, won second place in the Gifted Citizen
Contest, carried out at the Brilliant Minds Festival
"La Ciudad de las Ideas" (Ideas City), thanks to the
NGO 383 creation project.
• Irene Armesto Baeza, a Licenciatura in Visual
Information Design student, was a finalist in the
visual arts contest Art Takes Times Square, orga-
nized by the Artist Wanted Company.
• Amancay González Franco, Miryam Morales
Basulto and Alejandra Bárcena Flores, students of
Licenciatura in Marketing, won the photography
contest "Escápate con Volaris" (Escape with
Volaris).
• Raúl Julián Ortiz, medical intern of the first grad-
uating class of Licenciatura en Médico Cirujano
(Medicine), won first place in the Third National
Interuniversity Contest, organized by the Mexican
Academy of Surgery.
• Oscar Adrián Jiménez Gordillo, a Licenciatura in
Nanotechnology and Molecular Engineering stu-
dent, did a Summer internship at Technische Uni-
versitat of München, Alemania. Likewise, Xiomara
Gislen Fernández Garibay, Ana Karen Córdova
Estrada, Enrique Carlos González Monterrubio and
Adriana Sierra Romero, did Summer internships
at the Second Summer School of Nanoscience
at Grenoble Polytechnique Institute-Minatec,
France.
• Carlos Enrique Carrasco, a Licenciatura in Visual
Information Design student, won second place
in the Business Model category, in the challenge
launched by the company Naranya during Global
Entrepreneurship Week 2012.
• Lizette Alejandra Minjares Espinoza and Itza
Arantxa Monforte Noguez, Licenciatura in Nano-
technology and Molecular Engineering students,
did research internships at the Centro Universita-
rio Valles of Universidad de Guadalajara, and the
UNAM Chemistry Department respectively.
• Yanelli Hernández Torres, a Licenciatura in Visual
Information Design student, won the National
Poster Contest for the 16th French Film Tour orga-
