TUTORING
The Tutoring System continues to be strengthened,
meeting its purpose of supporting the academic
and personal development of the students, by con-
sidering issues like adapting to the University´s sys-
tem, reviewing special needs or requirements that
affect their academic output, or providing orien-
tation regarding programs, research projects, and
other decisions particular to their university career.
In the same manner, it provides support in academic
risk situations and advice to iden-
tify strengths and weaknesses,
promoting a greater association
between the students and UDLAP.
These results are reflected in a
15% reduction of the number of
licenciatura students dropping
out in Fall 2012, compared to Fall
2011. Tutoring and other academic
actionsresultedinastudentreten-
tion rate of 95% in Fall 2012.
OUR STUDENTS
With 6,000 full time and 1,200 dis-
tance education students, we con-
tinue to update our academic offer in
class and online, aiming to satisfy the
needs of the country and the interna-
tional community.
A proof of the solidity of our academic
programs is the annual increase in the
number of new students in the last two cycles: 14%
in the Fall of 2012 and 39% in the Spring of 2013. With
these numbers, at the beginning of the last period the
expected licenciatura admissions were 35% above
target. In that same period, the target for new gradu-
ate students was surpassed by 80%.
