ACADEMIC QUALITY
DISTANCE EDUCATION
Distance courses have been incorporated in all licen-
ciatura study programs, to promote in students self-
regulation, communication and collaboration with
remote groups in order to develop projects, as well
as the use of technology and cutting edge education.
Today, 13 different courses per semester are offered
in this modality.
Our distance Master´s degrees
are totally redesigned pro-
grams, following a new scheme
that also grants the students
a graduate certificate. These
programs respond to the job
market´s demands for special-
ization, integrating at the same
time technology for distance
education. They also require
fewer units, allowing the stu-
dent to complete a program with an efficient use
of his/her time, either as a full-time or a part-time
student.
In Fall 2012 seven new study programs, with their
respective specializations, were launched in this
new format:
• Master in Business Administration, with special-
izations in Project Management and International
Strategy.
• Master in Educational Organization Management,
with specialization in School Management.
• Master in Information Technology Management,
with specialization in Information Systems.
• Master in Corporate Law, with specializations in
Fiscal Strategy and International Business Law.
• Master in Corporate Finance, with specialization
in Financial Business Management.
• Master in Marketing, with specialization in Brand-
ing and Retailing.
• Master in Organizational Psychology, with special-
ization in Work Psychology.
NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL RANKINGS
Updating our academic programs, having a greater
number of professors with doctorates, and con-
stantly improving our education technology have
consolidated our academic renown. We are the best
private university in the ranking of Mexico´s best
universities by El Universal newspaper; and América
Economía magazine ranked our university in second
place among private institutions of higher education
in Mexico. A similar ranking by Reforma newspaper,
placed UDLAP´s Business Administration, Communi-
cation Science and Engineering of Computer Systems
in first place in the region, and
in second place the Licencia-
turas in Law, Architecture and
Industrial Engineering.
UDLAP stood out by earning a
5.2 classification from the Gen-
eral Direction for Accreditation,
Incorporation and Revalida-
tion (DGAIR), which is the max-
imum to be obtained when
assessing the services rendered
by private education institutes,
with official validity granted by the Mexico Ministry
of Public Education. This result guarantees that all
our programs have an Official Validity Recognition
(RVOE). It also ratifies that in our institution there
is: (i) planning and intervention for administrative
and academic improvement; (ii) control of educa-
tional inputs, processes, results, and products; (iii)
academic and institutional solidity; and (iv) continu-
ing leadership in research and outreach.
At the international level, we participated again in
the QS World University Ranking, advancing 14 posi-
tions to occupy number 32 in Latin America, a sig-
nificant improvement compared to last year. Our
graduate programs in Business Administration,
Information Technology Administration, Market-
ing, Public Communication, Corporate Finance and
International Business were placed in the first posi-
tions in the classification table of graduate studies
of EDUniversal.
