Finally, at the end of the year, and in collaboration

cert at the main altar of Puebla´s Cathedral, before
an audience of over 2,000 people who enjoyed a
program executed and interpreted by professors
and students of Licenciatura in Music, alumni, and
UDLAP´s Representative Teams.
SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
UDLAP is known for being an institution concerned
with helping and contributing to satisfy the needs of
different sectors; because of this, in 2012 the social
and ethical participation of students was encour-
aged through programs that stress social commit-
ment with the community.
In collaboration with 32 private and public organiza-
tions and NGOS, a Fair for Social Service, Professional
Practices and Volunteering was held for the fourth
time at UDLAP, with the purpose of informing the stu-
dents of current projects of different organizations.
AZTECA VOLUNTEERS
In Fall 2012, the first stage of Azteca Volunteers
began, where students dedicated their time and
abilities to various activities that serve other per-
sons or community. This gives them a chance to
become aware and foster empathy through an expe-
rience that enriches their abilities, in accordance to
UDLAP´s graduate profile.
The program aims to encourage students to par-
ticipate as volunteers in civic and public organiza-
tions, fulfilling the principle of social responsibility
declared in our mission.
Through this program our students identify, analyze
and solve--in a reasoned, creative and interdisciplin-
ary manner--problems and challenges presented to
them. They assess a broad range of cultural expres-
sions and they approach regional, national and inter-
national problems in an informed and critical way,
so their opinion and actions contribute to improve
society. The students display ethical behavior, social
and environmental responsibility in accordance
with institutional values, and have an opportunity
to show their ability for creative shared leadership
in working and learning communities.
Azteca Volunteers has created links with 16 civic
associations and four government offices. In its
awareness stage, three information sessions were
held, plus a workshop on the social, economic and
personal impact of volunteering. This last workshop
was in conjunction with Save the Children, A.C.
