INTEGRAL EDUCATION AND MULTICULTURAL ENVIRONMENT
STUDENT LIFE
UDLAP´s campus is a space for development, growth
and learning. For this reason, we make sure that the
students have facilities and services that make their
stay at the University a comprehensive experience.
During 2012, a renovation and remodeling of spaces
at the School of Business and Economics and the
Agora was done, expanding the services offered by
franchises to create a friendlier environment.
In addition, for the seventh consecutive time we
received a Distintivo H, which vouches for the qual-
ity and hygiene of the services offered by the Améri-
cas dining room and different campus cafeterias.
At the University Colleges, actions aimed at achiev-
ing an atmosphere of fellowship for the residents,
and an efficient administration, have yielded a high
occupancy rate in the four colleges. As an example,
during 2012 the number of residents increased 5%
over the previous year.
HEALTH AND WELFARE
To promote the integral health of members of the
UDLAP community, we continue to have education
and prevention activities, and campaigns of aware-
ness and contribution to health related issues.
We have made an agreement with the International
Center for Alcohol Policies (ICAP), aimed at promot-
ing the responsible use of alcohol among young
people. We also supported fundraising for the Pro-
gram for the Prevention of Psychosocial Risk and
Addictions.
With the Government´s General Secretary and Actí-
vate x Puebla, we participated in an organ donation
campaign, placing information stands throughout
campus. The campaign "Héroes por la Vida" (Life
Heroes) of the Carlos Slim Health Institute was sup-
ported through 1,900 credentials handed to univer-
sity community members who decided to become
organ donors.
A health prevention culture was stressed through
workshops, lectures and talks. To mark the Interna-
tional Day against Breast Cancer the lecture "Pre-
vención de cáncer de mama" was given, and 140 free
mammograms were offered to female employees
over the age of 40.
First aid workshops were conducted for UDLAP´s new
students; and the athlete Gustavo Sánchez Martínez,
London 2012´s paralympic medal winner, delivered
the lecture "Límites mentales para lograr nuestros
objetivos".
