WE INCREASED BY 50% THE NUMBER OF VACANT POSITIONS OFFERED IN OUR EMPLOYMENT OFFICE AND MORE THAN 750 CORPORATIONS TRUST UDLAPS TALENT, AND HIRE OUR GRADUATES.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
The Center of Professional Development, through its employment office, increased during the year 2011 by 50% the number of vacant positions published in comparison to those in the last year with a total of 5,931 job positions. Likewise, we were able to establish an efficient communication with more than 750 corporations, which trust UDLAPs talent and hire personnel from our employment office. Such trust was reflected in the 48 recruitment visits on campus, to which more than 1,300 students and graduates attended.
This connection has allowed us to take first place -according to employer’s opinion- in the 2011 ranking of the El Universal newspaper and the best positions in the Reforma newspaper.
In the month of April 2011, the 9th Professional Development Conference was carried out in its virtual modality; in this event, the topic of talent attraction and development was approached, having the participation of more than 90 corporations interested in recruiting UDLAP students and graduates, likewise 19 conferences were held, as well as a talent contest.
In May together with Puebla Ciudad Universitaria de México we organized the Feria de Oportunidades
Laborales y de Desarrollo Profesional (“Job Fair”) with focus on employability, international post- graduate opportunities, and entrepreneurship with the attendance of more than 80 corporations and 3,121 participants.
Likewise we carried out the second session of the UDLAP Human Resources Committee with the participation of Human Resources representatives of major corporations and organizations to promote the corporation-university connection.
With the objective of supporting our graduates, we held at the UDLAP campus the second UK University Fair, in which 13 universities offered opportunities to initiate an international experience.
We obtained the results of the 2009 job placement study, and we initiated the assessment for the 2010 prom, with the purpose to establish the current occupation of our graduates one year after graduation.
Finally, through conferences, workshops and agreements with OCC, Zona Jobs, Trabajando.com, Monster, Empleospetroleros.com and Manpower, we provided tools for the UDLAP community.
