UDLAPS SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

In 2011 several actions were taken as part of our social commitment and responsibility. As in the case of the donation of 246 items that were not used in public education institutions, and an ambulance for the Municipality of San Andrés Cholula; the granting of three scholarships Becas San Andrés to outstanding youngsters of the township and the implementation of the project to supply renewable energy in the community of Santa Isabel Cholula, in collaboration with Appalachian State University.

The first edition of the UDLAPs Leadership Program for Native Youngsters was carried out. After 4 weeks of intense work the first graduates had developed 16 projects with social impact that will benefit the States of Puebla, Tlaxcala, Hidalgo, Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Chiapas, Michoacán, Oaxaca and the State of Mexico. The program was among the 80 finalists of Iniciativa México 2011.

RELATIONSHIP WITH MEDIA

Throughout the year, 400 press releases were issued, more than 100 invitations to the media to events carried out within the university, and 52 press conferences were held to inform the public about activities and achievements of the UDLAP community, covering the 3 sources of information: academic, sports and cultural topics in national and international conferences, signing of agreements and strategic alliances, opening of laboratories, expo UDLAP, UDLAP draw, artistic presentations, sports participations and UDLAP pride.

INTERNALCOMMUNICATION

As part of our communication strategy within the university, in the year 2011 we published more than 90 issues of Infórmate magazine, 46 issues of Entérate magazine (weekly bulletin), 9 issues of Involúcrate magazine (monthly publication), 505 events on the Web calendar of the institutional web page, approximately 300 updated images were shown on campus screens, 633 UDLAP Informa reports were issued, and more than 3,700 posters were placed on the campus boards. That was all done with the purpose of maintaining the participation of our university community in the many events and interventions of the institution.
