promotes private assistance among different institutions.

Likewise, we joined the Red Universitaria para la Prevención y Atención de Desastres [UNIRED] (“University Network for disaster prevention and assistance”), which is an initiative of the Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía [CEMEFI] (“Mexican Center for Philanthropy”) with the purpose to help in the promotion of a disaster prevention culture and it is integrated by 65 campuses of the main university systems in the country.

PATRIMONY OF UDLAP

From September 1, to January 8, 2012 the temporary master exhibition Rosa Rolanda: Una orquídea tatuada y la danza en las manos was received in the UDLAP Chapel of Arts. The exhibit was the result of collaboration with the Museum-Studio Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo, Mexican Museum of San Francisco, Robert Brady Museum, Casa Luis Barragán, Colección Blaisten and the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (“National Institute of Fine Arts”).

To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Casa del Caballero Águila, the Mexican graphics exhibition De Guerrero a Caballero Águila (“From

Warrior to Eagle Knight”), of the poblano artist Joel Rendón was shown from October 21, 2011 to February 12, 2012.

Artists Carlos Arias, Patricia Fabre, Víctor Solanas and Germán Montalvo enhanced the UDLAPs Art Collection by making a generous donation of paintings, sculptures and graphics.

Connection with cultural institutions such as the Instituto Municipal de Arte y Cultura de Puebla (“Puebla’s Municipal Institute of Art and Culture”), the Amparo museum and the Museé d’Art Moderne

de la Ville de Paris, have contributed to broaden the program diversity in the UDLAPs Chapel of Arts and have strengthened our presence with high-quality products: Conversando con expertos (“Talking to Experts”), Miércoles Musicales (“Musical Wednesdays”), Cinexpectativas (“Movie expectations”), UDLAP & Friends and Domingos Fantásticos (“Fantastic Sundays”). Throughout 2011 the poblana society, as well as national and foreign visitors, have gathered to enjoy the free-entrance concerts, workshops and shows.

We had the presence of celebrities of the avant- garde artistic and cultural world such as Alejandro Jodorowsky, who presented his latest video, Spiritual Journey in the UDLAP Auditorium on December 1, 2011.

In the first semester of 2011 the collective exhibition De lo mexicano was presented, as a result of the third curatorship of the UDLAPs Art Collection, carried out by students of the School of Arts and Humanities in the UDLAP Chapel of Arts. From May to December the first collective exhibition of undergraduates of Plastic Arts UDLAP 19°03´02´N 98°17´58´´W in the Galleries of Casa del Caballero Águila was presented, and during the months of April and May we carried out the temporary student exhibition of Plastic Arts Ready MEX, in the Gallery of the Instituto Mexicano de Tecnología del Agua (“Mexican Institute of Water Technology”) in Jiutepec, Morelos.

Pieces from the UDLAPs Special Collections were lent to the international exhibition “The African Diaspora of Miguel Covarrubias: Driven by Color, Shaped by Cultures” in the California African American Museum of Los Angeles, California; for the temporary exhibition of Manuel Rodríguez Lozano Pensamiento y Pintura 1922-1958 in the Museo Nacional de Arte (“National Museum of Art”) in Mexico City and for the temporary exhibition
