As a graduate from the Bachelor of Environmental Engineering you will be able to define, operate, and improve environmental protection processes, applying theories and principles of balance of mass and energy, fluid flow unit operations, transfer of heat and energy, biochemical reactors, and process engineering for the elimination of pollutants. This will optimize industry operations and processes, will help maintain pollution prevention systems, and guarantee the safety of personnel and communities in public and private organizations.

Once you have finished your study program, you will have a bachelor´s degree in addition to a licenciatura degree. Therefore, your studies will be recognized worldwide.

In addition to enhancing your entry skills, at the Licenciatura in Environmental Engineering we propose to:

  • Teach you skills in the balance of matter and energy as applied to environmental bioprocesses, thermodynamics, and processes of transfer of mass, heat, and momentum.
  • Teach you to design unit operations and chemical, biochemical, and biotechnological reactions to eliminate, treat, and minimize environmental pollution, thus reducing its impact.
  • Help you to integrate and design the production processes that will benefit companies that you consider to be sustainable opportunities for the environment.
  • Instruct you in various sources of fossil and bio-sustainable fuel, establishing their impact when designing processes.
  • Encourage you to master modern experimental and computer techniques to optimize production processes that have low environmental impact, and designing remediation and control systems.
  • Train you to handle different computer programs to solve environmental engineering problems, chemical as well as of sustainable development.
  • Possesses creativity that will be useful in new functional, environmental, and technological models.
  • Has a positive tendency to design solutions for environmental problems.
  • Willing to work for the greater good and to be successful.
  • Determined to achieve goals through learning.
  • Able to develop strategies to protect the environment, using principles of basic science, balance of matter and energy, transfer of mass, biotechnology, and heat to recommend solutions to environmental engineering problems.
  • Able to evaluate unit operations through the analysis of environmental, social, safety and sustainable development factors to establish sustainable processes in the treatment of water, air, and waste.
  • Masters the design of experiments on the effect of different variables that intervene in the production or treatment process through the use of lab and computer tools to calculate and minimize the environmental impact.
  • Knows the different process flow diagrams for the transformation of pollutants into safe or reusable materials, applying concepts of sustainable development to establish feasible designs that satisfy the specified operation’s economic, safety, social, and ethical restrictions.
  • Able to develop solutions to problems of balance of mass and energy in systems and sub-systems, applying the principles of conservation to determine the mass and energy flow of the different units that make up the process of creation and elimination of contaminants.
  • Able to design environmental management systems by calculating and analyzing variables to prevent adverse environmental impacts in both existing processes and new production processes.
