OBJECTIVES OF THE GRADUATE PROGRAM

At Universidad de las Américas Puebla we are committed to offering doctoral programs that benefit the social, economic, and technological development of the country by increasing the number of science researchers with doctorate who support relevant research in Mexico.  The objective of the doctoral program is to train researchers and professors with a capacity to design and execute cutting-edge projects in intelligent systems, computer science, and automation with tangible results for the industrial and government sectors.  They will also be able to teach and influence students of undergradutate program, master and doctoral programs as well as promote the development of new technologies, in industry and in research centers and academic institutions, training human resources of these areas. 

 

 

APPLICANT PROFILE

  • The applicant requires a undergraduate program or equivalent in areas related to the doctoral study program (engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or similar areas)
  • Take the general knowledge and English exams.

 

 

GRADUATE PROFILE

The graduate will be able to obtain, develop, and apply:



KNOWLEDGE

  • Understand the theoretical elements to design, develop, and improve technology by using algorithms and hardware.
  • Implement technological alternatives to develop artificial intelligence systems.
  • Use computer tools for research.
  • Master the different technologies for information analysis.
  • Use the different computer platforms to develop technologies.
  • Master the design procedures to develop specific applications.

 

SKILLS

  • Write protocols for projects, publications, and technical reports.
  • Use modern technologies in his/her specialty area.
  • Implement, maintain, and update bio-inspired systems, algorithms, and hardware.
  • Work efficiently in a team for interdisciplinary projects.
  • Evaluate processes to continuously improve them.
  • Lead in project development and management.
  • Handle information in diverse formats: manuals, books, electronic storage devices, internet, and indexed journals.
  • Make decisions.

 

ATTITUDES

  • Responsibility, dedication, and professionalism in all his/her activities.
  • Continuous updating in the discipline’s technologies.
  • Social commitment.
  • Ethical behavior in the practice of the profession.
  • Environmental awareness.
  • Objectivity when analyzing critical situations.




ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (TO BE UPDATED)

  • Undergraduate program or equivalent in engineering, science, physics, mathematics, computer systems, or similar areas.
  • Interview with the coordinator.
  • Meet the established admissions requirements.
  • Take the admission exam.
  • Updated CV.
