Tania has a PhD in Politics focusing on public diplomacy and soft power (Queen Mary University of London, UK), a master’s degree in Globalization and Communications (University of Leicester, UK), and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism (Escuela de Periodismo Carlos Septién García, Mexico). She has disseminated her research at international conferences in Europe, the USA and Latin America, and delivered seminars to undergraduate students at Queen Mary University of London on International Relations. She is also a member of international organizations: Latin American Studies Association (LASA), International Studies Association (ISA), International Communication Association (ICA) and AEJMC (Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication). In Mexico, she has had professional experience in journalism, editing, corporate communication, and Public Relations; in the UK, she has worked for the education sector at the University of Leicester and Queen Mary University of London. Currently, she is an Associate Lecturer at Universidad de las Américas Puebla (México) in the Department of International Relations and Political Science, and the Department of Communication. She is also postgraduate coordinator of the masters programs: Governance and Globalization, and Communication and Digital Media. Additionally, she coordinates the research program on investigative journalism in the CESIJ-UDLAP. Among her recent collaboration are her participation in the last two editions (2019 and 2020) of the report "Informe de Libertad de Expresión en México" of CASEDE (Colectivo de Análisis de la Seguridad con Democracia A. C., among other publications. Additionally, she is the International Liaison of the Public Diplomacy Interest Group of the International Communication Association (ICA) for the term 2022-2024.
