Alexis Piñeiro Garcia is professor of Universidad de las Americas Puebla (UDLAP) with adscription to the Chemical, Environmental and Food Engineering. Alexis Piñeiro is chemical engineer with a Master en Chemical Engineering, both obtained from Celaya Institute Technology. He received his PhD from Celaya Institute Technology (Mexico) and Chimie ParisTech (France) in the frame of cotutelle. Later joined to the group of Eduardo Gracia as postdoctoral researcher at Umeå University, Sweden until December 2023, where he performed research related to design of catalysts for water electrolysis. His research interests include but not limited to engineering defects in 2D nanomaterials through radical chemistry and design of multi-component metal oxides for durable and efficient water electrolysis. Currently, he is part of the Researcher National System (SNI) with level 1.
