ACKNOWLEDGMENT
This activity report is the culmination of the first five years of our work together. Specifically, it presents many
of our community´s achievements in the 2012 academic cycle. There may be no doubt that many other accom-
plishments, which are not included, are due to the work of everyone who is a member of the UDLAP family.
At the end of this five-year cycle, the Universidad de las Américas Puebla continues to prove, with recogni-
tion from prestigious institutions all over the world and the national and international accreditation of its
licenciatura, master and doctorate programs, that it is the University with the highest academic quality. Most
importantly, the transformation of our academic programs, both in licenciatura and graduate school, has
shown that this University innovates and has the highest academic quality in all its activities, for the benefit
of our students and the future of our country.
We must continue working together to ensure that our University strengthens its academic and administra-
tive identity, that the multicultural environment grows steadily, that the academic quality of our faculty is
consolidated through the hiring of new full time professors, with strong investments in laboratory equip-
ment and the academic facilities necessary for research. Also, our work must concentrate on guaranteeing
our financial capacity, in order to provide greater economic support to all students who deserve it.
My commitment to you, at the start of this new five-year term for the 2013-2018 cycle, is to continue to work
tirelessly to achieve our goal of being recognized, undoubtedly, as the best private University in Latin America.
