ADMINISTRATION IMPROVEMENT
BUDGET 2013
The UDLAP annual budgeting was carried out colle-
gially for the fifth consecutive year through a Budget
Committee composed of University faculty, students,
and staff who represent all the operational areas.
After several work sessions, the Committee pre-
sented an institutional budget for 2013 of 860.7
million pesos, developed under the following
assumptions:
• Generation of cash flow to defray with equity capi-
tal 50 million pesos worth of investments.
• Operation through controlled spending measures.
• Budget with a "zero" net result.
The budget was submitted to the Administrative
Council on November 23, 2012. Subsequently, it was
sent to the Business Council on December 4, 2012,
and finally to the Board of Trustees for ratification.
It´s important to emphasize that given the quality
and procedure to create the University budget, both
superior boards gave their approval without any
modifications to the budget approved by the Uni-
versity Administrative Council.
FUNDRAISING
During 2012, 5.8 million pesos were raised to fund
scholarships for over seventy students, as part of the
UNE Business Scholarship Program, in their Student
and Corporate modes. The donations were provided
by over 40 businesses, of which 20 were new to the
program in 2012.
The relationships with Mondelēz International
(Kraft Foods) and Dow Mexicana were strengthened,
receiving support of over 1.6 million pesos for joint
research projects with the School of Engineering.
Through this, a long-term relationship was forged to
promote a business-University link.
In August, Sony de México loaned photographic
equipment for the Communications and Design of
Visual Information Laboratories. This equipment is
worth over half a million pesos.
During 2012, we had the support of over 20 compa-
nies who contributed over four million pesos in cash
and half a million pesos in kind to carry out Univer-
sity projects, including art exhibits, academic events,
representative sport teams and for the second con-
secutive year, representative cultural teams.
For a second occasion, the UDLAP Art Chapel was
backed by Volkswagen de México, VW Bank y VW
Leasing for the Cultural Season, the LUBOK art
exhibit, as well as the promotion of the Interactive
Gallery of the UDLAP Art Collection.
UDLAP LOTTERY
On October 12, 2012 we had the Twenty-Seventh
UDLAP Lottery, which has been carried out since
1987. The collected funds are used exclusively for the
scholarship program.
The UDLAP Lottery, duly registered and supervised
by the Ministry of the Interior, generated a gross
income of 78.4 million pesos and handed out 590
prizes worth 35 million pesos, among them three
completely furnished houses, cash, and cars.
Ticket sale and promotion of the Lottery occurred in
several cities of twelve states, mainly in central and
southeast Mexico, with enthusiastic participation
of over 15,000 collaborators, among them Univer-
sity students and employees, as well as the general
public.
TRANSPARENCY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
With the objective of validating the compliance and
adherence to the policies and procedures estab-
lished during the last five years, the UDLAP Office of
Internal Auditing carried out over 65 revisions to dif-
ferent areas in 2012, at the same time following up
on the agreements and action plans established the
previous year. Through this, a greater institutional-
ization and transparency in the University operation
and administrative processes continues.
