A workshop on process review was designed with
Banorte, and market research was provided for the
International Center for Alcohol Policies (ICAP),
Puebla Urban Services (SUPSA), the Environmental
Promoter of the Laguna and the Central Environmen-
tal Promoter (PASA).
Through the Research Center for Family Businesses,
we consulted for Gapsa Galletera de Puebla on cor-
porate governance. We also provided consulting on
water treatment for residual water and inoculation
for BASF Mexicana, and we carried out Hamburg test-
ing and motor testing in our laboratories for INNOVA
Pavimentos de México.
We gave courses specifically designed for govern-
ment agencies such as the Tlaxcala Tourism Minis-
try, Puebla City Hall, Federal Electricity Commission,
Mexican Institute of Social Security and PEMEX. In
the latter, we taught the Graduate Certificate in Legal
Strategies in four cities (Poza Rica, Reynosa, Tampico
and Veracruz).
We provided training services for the Federal Judi-
cial Council through Universia, our strategic partner,
which included fifteen courses during the second
semester of 2012 focused on service quality, family
and social roots, effective inquiries and development
of teaching skills. This training was given in Cuer-
navaca, Zapopan, Aguascalientes and Mexico City.
Additionally, we taught programs for Puebla Health
Services, such as a second forum on the reflection of
the commemoration of the International Day for the
Elimination of Violence against Women and Girls, as
well as a course on prevention and attention to fam-
ily and sexual violence for a cross-sector network.
In 2012, UDLAP Consultants increased their earnings
by 53% from 2011, through classroom programs,
online courses, and clinical and quality analyses.
UDLAP CULTURAL SPACES AND ARTISTIC HERITAGE
As part of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of
Puebla, and in collaboration with Talavera Uriarte,
we presented the URIARTE-UDLAP Contemporary
Talavera Collection, which gathered 38 Mexican art-
ists, among them UDLAP alumni and professors, to
contribute their representation of the icons of the
Battle of Puebla, thinking up unique talavera pieces
to reflect the current vocabularies and poetries. This
collection was shown in the Franz Mayer Museum
and Palacio de Hierro in Mexico City and Puebla.
Also, a catalogue of the pieces created by Alejandro
Magallanes, one of the most important contempo-
rary Mexican designers, was published.
In April, in the third floor gallery of the UDLAP Library,
the homage exhibit "Faustino Salazar, a 100 años de
su natalicio" (Faustino Salazar, 100 years after his
birth) was presented to commemorate one of the
most distinguished painters of Puebla.
During the summer of 2012, two temporary exhib-
its in the Alliance Francaise gallery were presented:
"Arte joven" (Young Art), a collection from ten UDLAP
Licenciatura in Plastic Arts students, and "Gráficas
en diálogo" (Graphics in Dialogue) with works from
José Luis Cuevas, Gerardo Cantú, Alejandro Colunga
and Gustavo Montoya, artists from the UDLAP Art
Collection.
As part of the Celebrations of the Americas, the
Puebla Symphonic Orchestra offered in the UDLAP
Auditorium their traditional gala concert with
Maestro Juan Hermida, Head of the Department of
Arts, as guest cellist. The Virtual Catalogue and the
Interactive Gallery of the UDLAP Art Collection were
presented, using a modern technological platform
that allows the user to easily become acquainted
with the University´s artistic heritage, which con-
