UDLAP OUTREACH
UDLAP OUTREACH
Aware of its impact on local, national and interna-
tional communities, UDLAP has strengthened its col-
laboration with various organisms, institutions and
businesses in order to create synergies and reach
common goals.
AGREEMENTS
In order to train and certify over ten thousand teach-
ers at an international level, and to improve the qual-
ity of education, in May 2012 the University signed an
agreement with Sistema UNO for education in Latin
America, representing one of the biggest steps in
the path to train teachers in Mexico and Latin Amer-
ica. As part of the Sistema UNO training process, all
teachers receive through UDLAP constant prepara-
tion that allows them to improve their competence
and teaching performance, which helped the Univer-
sity to increase its capacity of the distance education
platform.
Another important agreement this year was with the
Puebla Archdiocese, in which the University is work-
ing to preserve, clean, inventory, catalogue, digi-
tize, administrate, and disseminate the information
from the Historical Archives of the Puebla Diocese.
To accomplish this, the University set up voice and
data services for wireless and wired networks, and
installed specialized computer equipment to digi-
tize and catalogue the archives.
On November 15 a collaboration agreement between
Universidad de las Américas Puebla and Universi-
dad Autónoma de Nuevo León was signed, setting
a precedent in Mexico where a public and a private
university integrate their data centers to have an
operational continuity plan and an integral solution
for data recovery in case of disasters.
Also, other collaboration agreements for teaching
and research, specific projects, and design and devel-
opment of courses or specialized training programs
were signed with the Puebla Electoral Tribunal, Uni-
versidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, the Puebla
Government General Secretary, and the Center for
Research and Advanced Studies of Instituto Politéc-
nico Nacional - Irapuato campus, among others.
We carried out an interagency agreement to cre-
ate, establish, operate and run a project called "Red
cultura escrita y comunidades discursivas" (Writ-
ten Culture and Conversational Communities Net-
work). Participating in this agreement with UDLAP
are BUAP, Universidad Autónoma de Tlaxcala, Insti-
