INTEGRAL FORMATION AND MULTICULTURAL ENVIRONMENT

THE WELL-BEING OF OUR STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY IS OUR PRIORITY AND IT IS PART OF OUR UNIVERSITY FORMATION PROGRAMS. THEREFORE WE OFFER FIRST AID ASSISTANCE, AS WELL AS DEVELOP HEALTH PREVENTION AND PROMOTION STRATEGIES.

STUDENT LIFE

The Head Office of University Colleges is managed under the premise of creating environments for the integral formation of its residents, as well as to keep ideal occupation in its four facilities.

During 2011, we received a total of 2,723 students in our colleges, which allowed interaction of the residents with several services offered by the university for development of student life on campus.

We are currently planning diverse improvements to offer in the University Colleges more adequate spaces and living conditions.

HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

At UDLAP we know that a student must be formed in an integral way. Therefore his/her personal well- being and the community well-being is part of our university formation programs. At the institution we do not only provide first aid assistance, but also develop health prevention and promotion strategies through the Head Office of Medical Services.

During 2011 we supported the measles sanitary alert issued by the World Health Organization, the Pan American Health Organization and the Federal and State Health Authorities, by applying during the month of July, 100 doses to high-risk individuals. We also collaborated with the Centro Estatal de la Transfusión Sanguínea (“State Blood Transfusion Center”) in the voluntary donation campaign carried out by the Department of Health. In addition, prevention conferences were held, such as timely detection of breast and cervical cancer and for the latter 250 vaccines were applied.

A preventive campaign against influenza was carried out, 500 doses were applied to the benefit of our university community. Finally the PREVENIMSS campaign was carried out for 85% of the academic and administrative employees, resulting in the creation of an occupational health program in which conferences about nutrition, smoking and spinal column health were held.
