MULTICULTURAL ENVIRONMENT AND INTEGRATION OF SPORTS, ARTISTIC AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT THROUGHOUT THE ACADEMIC LIFE OF OUR STUDENTS, CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR INTEGRAL FORMATION AND ALLOW THEM TO SHARE EXPERIENCES AND KNOWLEDGE.
STUDENT PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITES
During 2011 several activities were carried out which cover the interest of the college community and have a positive impact on the integral formation of our students, promoting spirit of competition, emotional management, autonomy and independence, interpersonal relationships and identity creation.
Student organizations are part of the co-curricular college activities, which give students different spaces to exercise their group interest and develop leadership skills. In 2011 the number of organizations established by our students increased from 18 to a total of 32.
The Student Board of the Universidad de las Américas Puebla [CEUDLAP] is a role model of student representation. In the last year a total of 121 members of the executive, legislative and judicial powers formed this representational body.
UDLAP Guides gave support to more than 1,300 new students that participated in the induction programs of the spring and fall periods. More than 40 students received training to act as UDLAP Guides.
More than 6,000 participants attended the university workshops, recreational trips and open activities for students, employees, teachers, graduates and family members of the university community.
ACADEMIC TUTORING
In compliance with the institutional philosophy of quality and cordial customized service to our students and taking into consideration their integral development, through reinforced relation with faculty in and outside classes, the Institutional System of Academic Tutoring was developed in 2011, with the purpose of supporting and orienting the students to improve their academic performance and create a profound sense of belonging in the institution.
