Leandro Rodríguez Medina, PhD is the first Latin American individual elected as member of the Governing Council of the Society for the Social Study of Science.

Laura Adriana Albarellos, PhD faculty of the Department of Law received the 2011 Themis award in the international category by the Confederación de Abogados Latinoamericanos (“Latin American Bar Association”). In addition she obtained the Manuel Velasco Suárez award for Excellency in Bioethics, honor awarded by the Fundación Panamericana de la Salud y Educación (“Pan American Foundation for Health and Education”).

Samuel Cortina Arteaga and Sonia Gisella Aguirre Narváez, faculty of the Department of Visual Information Design were the only Mexicans designated to participate as expert evaluators at the international contest A Logo For Human Rights.

Guadalupe Cecilia Aguilar Dominguez, PhD Head of the Department of Health Sciences was invited as evaluator of applicants to scholarships abroad by CONACYT.

Elitania Leyva Rayón, PhD faculty at the Department of Economics obtained the award for best PhD degree thesis granted by the Autonomous University of Madrid.

Cecilia Anaya Berrios, PhD Academic Vice-rector of UDLAP and Chairwoman of the Chemical Society of Mexico participated in the activities of the American Chemical Society International Conference.

Clara Luz Álvarez González de Castilla, PhD faculty of the Department of Law was designated by the Secretary of Communications and Transportation as adviser of the Consejo Consultivo de la Comisión Federal de Telecomunicaciones (“Advisory Board of the Federal Communications Committee”). In addition, for the International Telecommunications Association she issues reports about access to telecommunications by handicapped people.

Leovigildo López García, PhD developed a method to solve the problem of balancing the designation to examination stands of airline flights.

Juan Manuel Bada Dosal, MS was appointed Regional Commissioner for the 2011-2013 period by the Board of Directors of ENCUADRE Nacional de Instituciones de la Enseñanza de Diseño Gráfico y Diseño de la Comunicación, A.C (“National Institutions for the teaching of Graphic Design and Communication Design”).

Miguel Ángel Méndez Rojas, PhD was appointed member of the Technical Board of the Science and Technology Board of the State of Puebla.
