International Affairs

Studying abroad gives students competitive advantages and intercultural skills that translate into numerous long-term opportunities, both personal and professional.

Given that every international program is different, we recommend that students select an institution that fits their requirements.

Participating in an international program gives students:

  • Development of a global vision, necessary to face local and international challenges.
  • Understanding of different cultures and solution of problems in a foreign environment.
  • Acknowledgment of different points of view and ways of thinking from around the world.
  • Improved language skills.
  • Increase of self-esteem, responsibility and autonomy.
  • Optimal professional opportunities.

As an UDLAP student, you can apply to one or more international programs.

For regular exchanges and dual programs at the undergraduate level, you must apply a year before the period in which you wish to start your program. At the master level you must apply during your first trimester. During this session, you will be assigned a registration number so you may continue with the process.
  2. Review the list of suggested universities, according to your major. Confirm that your two options are available.
  3. Hand in your language certificate to prove that you meet the required level.
  4. Formalize your application to the international program at https://www.udlap.mx/internacional, and select your two university choices.
  5. Receive from the International Affairs Office the confirmation of one of your university options.
  6. Search the academic program study plan at your chosen university and pre-select the courses you wish to take on the International Office platform.

Students may accredit one or two of their Professional Practices courses abroad. This program offers the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired during academic programs in a multicultural environment.

The student has the option of applying through one of the placement agencies UDLAP has an agreement with, or on their own. In the latter case, it is necessary to obtain an agreement that endorses the student’s practice program abroad.

The application process begins a semester before the course is to be taken, so you must make sure to meet the requirements before applying.
