Objective

Train professionals in Economics capable of analyzing, interpreting and predicting economic systems using microeconomics, macroeconomics, mathematics and quantitative methods tools. The training is carried out in face-to-face and virtual learning environments and with technological and computer resources, aimed at solving economic and financial problems such as climate change, inequality, low economic growth, financial instability, among others. These professionals work in both the private and public sectors, in a social and business environment that contemporary society requires.

The Economics’ teaching learning process is based on competencies to integrate knowledge, skills and attitudes that train ethical professionals who can meet the economics needs and requirements of the population, in a global world.

  • Apply macroeconomic models to design and evaluate public policies, using technological tools to address economic and financial problems.
  • Explain the economic behavior of individuals, government and companies through mathematical models and empirical data, seeking to improve market efficiency.
  • Evaluate the impact of institutions on markets and propose economic strategies based on humanistic principles and common benefit.
  • Estimate the profitability of investment projects using financial information, guided by ethical and transparent work practices in public and private companies.
  • Develop econometric methods to create and test hypotheses regarding interactions between economic variables, based on truth as a professional foundation.
  • Manage learning using digital resources effectively.
