Juan Manuel San Martin has a bachelors degree in Economics from the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas, has a masters degree in Economics from the University of the Americas Puebla and has a PhD in New Trends in Business Administration from the University of Burgos in Spain. Since August 2010, he is Full-time Professor at the University of the Americas Puebla, performing as coordinator of graduate and senior researcher at the Research Center for Family Business (CIEF) developed by UDLAP in collaboration with Pricewaterhosecoopers and is presently Head of Business Administration Department UDLAP. In his academic experience, Juan Manuel San Martin has been a professor and researcher at the Tecnológico de Monterrey and Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas. He has been a columnist for the Economy and Finance section of Televisa and currently writes "Talk of Economics and Something More" in the newspaper La Razon in the north of the country. He is external consultant certified by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare has served as president of the Association of Economists of Tamaulipas. Academically, participates with Faculty research "Regional Development and Sustainability" at the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas and is a member of the faculty research of JIMENA at the University of Burgos in Spain. Dr. San Martin is a member of the jury award "Best Paper" and "best doctoral thesis" International Congress of Family Enterprise Research Institute (IFERA). He is on the editorial board of several scientific journals at both national and international. His research interests focus on Family Businesses and Corporate Governance. He has written several articles, book chapters, and lectured nationally and internationally. He has received several awards including the "Adalberto Viesca Sada" Prize for Research in Family Business (2013 and 2016), the award for best paper in the International Journal of Business and Social Research, the Outstanding Research Award granted in Costa Rica; and awards "Bernardo López García" and "Nativity Leal Garza" a Research Excellence and Thesis Quality.
