The objectives for the program of Licenciatura in Environmental Engineering focus primarily on practicing engineers who are capable of working successfully not only in Mexico, but within a global context, in areas that include pollution prevention and control, development of sustainable systems, renewable energy, and optimization of processes and products within the chemical industry. The program is based on the fundamental and applied knowledge of Engineering, with focus on thermodynamics, transport phenomena, and unit operations. During the initial years of their careers, UDLAP’s environmental engineering graduates will:
PEO # 1: Career
Work successfully as environmental engineers, demonstrating technical proficiency in the theoretical and practical knowledge of the discipline, within engineering or related areas, and/or participate in research and development in science, engineering, technology and entrepreneurship, with a market orientation.
PEO #2: Leadership & Professional Engagement
Assume leadership positions and become effective communicators, team members, and decision makers.
PEO #3: Responsibility
Be responsible environmental engineers, participating in projects that recognize the global, social, and environmental impact.
PEO #4: Continuous Learning
As a graduate from the Bachelor of Environmental Engineering you will be able to define, operate, and improve environmental protection processes, applying theories and principles of balance of mass and energy, fluid flow unit operations, transfer of heat and energy, biochemical reactors, and process engineering for the elimination of pollutants. This will optimize industry operations and processes, will help maintain pollution prevention systems, and guarantee the safety of personnel and communities in public and private organizations.
Once you have finished your study program, you will have a bachelor´s degree in addition to a licenciatura degree. Therefore, your studies will be recognized worldwide.
