As a graduate from the Bachelor of Dance you will have the technical, practical, and creative skills to promote, participate in, and follow the development of this art, using a wide array of methodologies for its study. In an intellectually plural environment, critical thinking, individual curiosity, and self-discipline will help you to express, practice, promote, and embrace dance as a vital part of a healthy and productive society as you will also train new generations of dance professionals.

Once you have finished your study program, you will have a bachelor´s degree in addition to a licenciatura degree. Therefore, your studies will be recognized worldwide.

In addition to enhancing your entry skills, at the Licenciatura in Dance we propose to:

  • Increase your knowledge of interdisciplinary theories in relation to other artistic fields.
  • Train you to integrally manage your thoughts, body language, expressions, and aesthetics.
  • Motivate you to know your body, its scope, and limitations.
  • Teach you to interpret and execute movements, as well as play different roles in your dance education.
  • Increase your knowledge of choreography and the application of relationships between body, space, and time in a traditional and contemporary scene context.
  • Has a basic/intermediate knowledge of dance.
  • Desires to develop a creative voice through choreography.
  • Is open to other fields of knowledge, and to cultural and interpersonal relations.
  • Determined to achieve goals through learning.
  • Appreciates the scenic arts in its different expressions.
  • Is willing to participate in artistic activities in front of an audience.
  • Able to apply technical and expressive principles through scenic dance interpretation to reach an outstanding and personal performance level.
  • Knows the technical, somatic, and bio-dynamic principles of the human body by applying theories and practices related to dance to obtain an outstanding and personal level of conscious corporeality.
  • Skilled in using the technical and interpretive bases of dance to perform in traditional or contemporary theatrical dance contexts.
  • Experienced in using techniques from the different choreography practices by developing scene processes to create a personal methodology for a choreography proposal at a professional level.
  • Able to develop a teaching methodology, through practical and theoretical knowledge of the fundamental aspects of classic ballet and contemporary dance, to achieve an adequate level to teach basic and intermediate dance.
  • Able to analyze the different theoretical aspects of dance through the methodological evaluation of its drama, performance, aesthetics, and ideological and conceptual components to develop a critical point of view of contemporary performance trends.
