MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
In this fifth annual report, I wish to acknowledge
once more the efforts of the University community
that have carried our institution to a level of excel-
lence. Thanks to the work of all the people who
embody the UDLAP community, our University is
renowned in Mexico as a vanguard institution and as
a leader of modern educational technology with the
highest academic standards available in our country.
In particular, the efforts of our faculty have allowed
us to be recognized as the private university with the
best faculty of professors-researchers in Mexico. Due
to the investments made in these five years, we are
singled out for the educational quality of our facili-
ties, for having outstanding students and, finally, for
our alumni, considered by employers as the best can-
didates applying for jobs today. For all these reasons,
I thank again the university community for their sup-
port: without it, these achievements would not have
been possible. As I have said on many occasions, it is
an honor for me to be part of this joint effort to achieve a great objective: that UDLAP be recognized as the
best university in Latin America.
Our success has the added merit of having been accomplished despite the negative economic and social
environment that our country has endured. In the last five years, the work of our community as a whole, their
dedication and commitment has allowed us to grow, to improve our academic quality, to upgrade our facili-
ties, and to maintain a research level that marks us as the best university in the region and in the country. Our
academic, administrative, cultural, sports and financial achievements show that, as a University, we com-
pete successfully with similar universities in the United States and in any European country. We continue to
innovate, performing our daily activities with administrative and financial efficiency, consolidating a fac-
ulty that makes us proud, and improving educational techniques to keep us in the forefront of education.
Let us keep this work philosophy through the period that begins today. I am firmly convinced that the results
of the next five years will surpass those obtained in the first years that we have worked together. I know this
because I have witnessed the love that we all have for UDLAP, our dedication to the program Calidad con
Calidez (Quality with Warmth) that impacts on the attraction of new students and in the retention of those
that are already with us, as well as in the positioning of our faculty as the best among Mexico´s institutions
of higher education.
The following results would have been impossible to reach without your contribution, hard work, and devo-
tion to our institution. I thank you all!
