As a graduate from the Bachelor of Languages you will be able to describe, analyze, teach, and translate languages using applied linguistics. You will also use applied linguistics in teaching-learning processes, in translation, and in linguistic analysis of written and verbal speeches in intercultural management, solving problems of specific and private global contexts, always with responsibility, service, commitment, and respect.

Once you have finished your study program, you will have a bachelor´s degree in addition to a licenciatura degree. Therefore, your studies will be recognized worldwide.

In addition to enhancing your entry skills, at the Licenciatura in Languages we propose to:

  • Show you how a native and foreign language is learned.
  • Offer you language courses with didactic methodology and educational technology.
  • Teach you to design language or applied linguistic courses.
  • Train you to carry out research in applied linguistics.
  • Help you understand the use of languages in an intercultural context.
  • Reads in Spanish and English.
  • Is interested in cultural diversity.
  • Willing to work for the greater good and to be successful.
  • Is curious about phenomena related to languages.
  • Competent in evaluating language teaching and translation projects, correctly using applied linguistics methods to improve learning outcomes.
  • Knows the different theories and techniques of translation, transferring the second and/or third language to the first language to use them adequately as a translator.
  • Is skilled in selecting different translation and interpretation methods and techniques, aware of intercultural contexts to correctly and reliably translate and interpret.
  • Expert in the careful selection and analysis of different technological tools to improve teaching, translation, and/or research.
  • Skillful in developing different methods and techniques to teach languages, and interpreting learning theories and models in any educational context, to support language learning in students.
  • Able to analyze linguistic problems in different contexts, applying linguistic concepts and methods to offer feasible solutions.
